Date Night
This weekend was Date Night for me and Brad. We haven't gone out, sans kids, in about 3 months . Life has been so hectic since I went back to work, especially since Peyton has been sick for the past 5 weeks! He is FINALLY starting to feel better and act like himself again, so we decided that it was safe to pass him off to a babysitter and finally get some Brad and Carley time!
We decided to go to New Haven, since the babysitters (i.e. Grandma and Grandpa Vesneski) are closer to New Haven than Hartford. Upon the excellent suggestions of ex-New Havenites Stacey and Jason, we decided to go to Zaroka, supposedly the best Indian restaurant in New Haven. It didn't disappoint! We had a delicious meal (chicken saag for me and chicken vindaloo for Brad) and, of course, we ate way too much. We had been craving Indian for a while, so it really hit the spot. Afterward, we still had some time left, so we decided to hit a bar for some drinks. Again upon the suggestion of Stacey and Jason, we set off for Hot Tomato's. But after about 5 minutes of walking in the bitter cold, when we weren't even sure where we were going, we said, "Forget this!" and ducked into whatever bar happened to be the closest. We ended up at The Playwright. Not quite the upscale environment we were going for, but we still had an excellent time. It was nice to enjoy a leisurely drink or two! After that, we headed back to pick up the kids and headed home.
All in all, it was a wonderful and much-needed night out! I hope it's not another 3 months before we do it again!

Glad to hear you had a good night! I looked up Hot Tomatoes and apparently it's on College Street, so one over from Temple...guess my memory of New Haven isn't quite as good as I thought! Cute pic of Sonja trying to fly :)
