Misc.
Some other stuff that's been going on chez Vesneski...
1) In honor of the Opening Ceremonies last Friday, Peyton and Sonja participated in a Toddler Olympics at my friend Pam's house. It was adorable. She had the theme music playing and pictures of the olympic rings posted around the room. There were 5 different events--long jump, shot put (using balled-up tin foil), javelin (throwing extra-long straws into a bucket), gymnastics (somersaults) and kickball (sitting in a circle and kicking a ball to each other). Then, at the end, she had a medal ceremony, complete with construction paper gold medals. All 10 kids were winners!

All lined up for the medal ceremony
2) Last Saturday we went to a surprise 60th birthday party for Brad's aunt Barbara. She was definitely surprised...especially considering her birthday isn't for another 4 weeks! But what a gala it was. Her 3 sons rented out a banquet hall and had it catered and had a DJ, a cake, etc. It was a great time, but perhaps the person who had the best time was Sonja. She danced everyone under the table. It was a riot. Peyton mostly played with his cars and his 2nd cousin Brendon. But the best part of the night for me was before the party when I was just about finished getting all dressed up and ready to go. I went into Peyton's room to get him out of a time-out and he saw me all dressed up and, completely forgetting that he was in time-out, blurted out, "Ooooooh, that's a pretty mommy right there!" It melted my heart. :)
Enjoying a rare moment to ourselves
Enjoying a dance with my father-in-law
Brad's grandparents
A very cute picture of my sister-in-law, Sunday
Sonja dancin' it up (she's a tough one to pin down on the dance floor!)
The guest of honor and all the kiddos
3) And last but not least...Brad and I get almost an entire weekend to ourselves this weekend...but I'll write more about that later. :)
